The PTA is made-up by a group of volunteers (parents and carers) who work hard each year to fundraise for extra items and events to enrich the learning experience of the pupils at Lacon Childe School.
Each year we help to run and organise the Borders Classic Bike Show and this year will take place on Sunday 11th September. Last year we raised £3500, which 10% is donated to the Air Ambulance. We continue to run an on-line school lottery and we also have an easyfundraising page which is a simple way to raise funds when doing your on-line shopping, and have regular Bags 2 School collections and other fundrasing events throughout the year.
We are appealing for any new parents to come and join our friendly group as a few of us are leaving over the next couple of years. In particular, we need someone to come and shadow how the Bike Show is run, so that it can continue to be a success in the future. If you would like to get involved, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch with Sharon, Rachel, Sarah or Tracey. New ideas are welcome and we are always grateful for more parents to help, so please come along.
Your School lottery
Following the difficulties this year we have had carrying our face to face fundraising, we have decided to trial a brand new on-line lottery this year, as our usual leafletting has not been possible.
To support this, simply click on the link below to sign up. It costs just £1 per week and every week there is a winner, plus a chance to win the £25,000 jackpot prize. The more people that enter, the bigger the weekly prize!

Bags 2 School
The PTA is continuing to work with Bags to School to raise funds by recycling old textiles donated by you in bags which will be circulated by school. Please collect:
Men’s, Ladies and Children’s clothing; Paired shoes (tied together or elastic band around); Handbags; Hats; Bags; Scarves and ties; Jewellery; Lingerie; Belts and Soft toys.
