Welcome to Lacon Childe School
Year 12 Presentation evening
CELEBRATING SUCCESS
TEACHING AND LEARNING
What a day at Lacon!
Today we welcomed Medical Mavericks, who delivered an incredible hands‑on experience for our Year 9s and some of our Year 8s. Students took blood, scanned their bones, tried mock keyhole surgery, measured vitals, checked blood pressure, pulse and heart rate — they even carried out ECGs!
It was a brilliant opportunity to explore the huge range of careers in the NHS, from clinical leads and medical engineers to dieticians, managers and even chefs.
Our students have been absolutely buzzing! 🔬💙 #lovelacon #characteracademy #elevate

Working in teams, students take part in a fast-paced business challenge, where they identify a real-world issue, develop an innovative solution and present their ideas to their peers and judges. The programme encourages communication, leadership, teamwork and entrepreneurship, while helping students build the skills and resilience needed for future education and employment. #elevate #represent ...

Thank you for your support last week in helping us manage the exceptionally warm temperatures.
With the weather now returning to seasonal norms, we will be returning to full school uniform.
Students may wear an unbranded white polo shirt with tailored shorts, a skirt, or trousers. Alternatively, they may choose a formal shirt, tie and formal trousers.
All students must have their blazer, and it must be worn.
No trainers are to be worn.
Please continue to send students with a refillable water bottle to support hydration throughout the day.
Thank you again for your support.
