Year 7 Open Evening -Thursday 25th September 2025 from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm and Sixth Form Open Evening – Thursday 13th November 2025 from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm

King Charles is open today Thursday 9th January for all year groups.

Students and staff must take great care when making their way to school as after the recent snowfall roads and pavements may be a cause for concern and should only be travelled if families and individuals consider it safe to do so in their particular circumstances.

Please report any absences in the usual way.

Year 12 Presentation evening

We were pleased to welcome Katie Lambert to deliver the keynote speech during the evening. Katie is an ex-student of Lacon Childe School and had a successful start to her athletics career as a Hammer Thrower. She holds this very impressive list of achievements:

Shropshire County Champion and record holder for the under-17 hammer throw;
Midlands Champion and record holder for the under-17 and under-20 hammer throw;
England Schools’ Champion and record holder for the under-17 hammer throw; and
National Champion and record holder for the under-17 hammer throw.

Unfortunately, due to injury, Katie was unable to continue, but was not deterred and has been very successful in her new career in sports management. Katie is currently the Hammer Lead for England Athletics, the youngest person and only female to hold this role. Her story was truly inspiring for the students and guests, and it was wonderful to see one of our former students doing so well.
