Ethos that underpins our curriculum

Lacon Childe’s ethos is to be ‘more than just a school and this is reflected in our curriculum offer. The academic progress and personal development of every student are central to all that we do.

We embrace the challenge to provide a wealth of opportunities to enable students to explore and realise their full potential during their time at the school. We offer a wide range of extracurricular activities from mock trials to show jumping.

We aim to produce confident, resilient, knowledgeable, kind and well-rounded individuals, who will leave our school with high aspirations for their career, the person they want to be, and the positive impact they can have on the world. 

We offer a challenging and stimulating curriculum which inspires students to discover their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment. We enable students to become critical, reflective thinkers, who can overcome challenges and are well prepared for the wider world. Through high quality teaching and a breadth of experiences both in and out of the curriculum we seek to inspire inquisitive minds and spark curiosity to drive student progress and achievement. We have experienced staff across all subjects, who have strong subject knowledge, good relationships with the students they teach and effective classroom management, all of which contribute to the holistic development of our young people.
