Stuart Weston
Headteacher
Stuart started his role at Lacon Childe School in September 2025. Previously Stuart has had several roles including a curriculum leader and deputy headteacher, he is also a qualified SENDCo. Stuart completed his degree in Chemistry at Leicester University and his PGCE at Nottingham University, he also has completed the National Professional Qualification in Headship. Stuart is responsible for, along with the local governing body, setting the overall vision of the school. He leads the quality assurance systems and develops the school development plan. Stuart is also responsible for personnel, financial planning and admissions. Stuart is looking forward to securing improvement at Lacon Child School so that we deliver the best education to our students.
Rachel Croxton-Broome
Deputy Headteacher
Rachel is the Deputy Headteacher at Lacon Childe School. She completed her BA(Ed) in Physical Education and Geography at the University of Exeter. Since joining Lacon Childe School in 2003, Rachel has worked as Partnership Development Manager for the South Shropshire School Sport Partnership and was promoted to the Senior Leadership Team firstly as Assistant Headteacher, before becoming Deputy Headteacher. She has also led the school twice as Acting Headteacher in 2022 and Head of School in 2024. Rachel is responsible for the quality of education at Lacon and in particular the school’s curriculum and achievement.
Bethany Blizzard
ASSOCIATE ASSISTANT HEADTEACHER
Beth began her role as Associate Assistant Headteacher in December 2025, a position she holds alongside her responsibilities as Curriculum Lead for Religious Education and Worldviews. Her academic journey started with an undergraduate degree in Religious Studies and Theology at Cardiff University, followed by a PGCE at the University of Birmingham. She has a strong commitment to advancing the study of Religion and Worldviews in education, while also contributing to leadership at a whole school level.
Kara Guise
Assistant Headteacher / Designated Safeguarding Lead
Kara is Assistant Headteacher and a long-standing member of the Lacon Childe School team. She started her teaching career here after completing her Sports Studies and History degree at the University of Wolverhampton, followed by a PGCE in Secondary Physical Education at Worcester University. She has fulfilled a variety of roles during her time at Lacon Childe School, including Subject Leader for Physical Education during the school’s time as a Designated Sports Colleges, Key Stage 4 Co-ordinator with responsibility for behaviour, attendance, safeguarding and pastoral care and also served as transition lead. Kara is now the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring the wellbeing and safety of all students. She is also the Mental Health Lead and responsible for personal development and growth of the Character Academy. Kara has a strong philosophy for developing the whole person and the encouragement of all to be the best they can be and is committed to assisting the development of young people into mature and responsible citizens.
Lucy Phillips
Assistant Headteacher / Subject Lead: Geography
Lucy joined Lacon Childe School in September 2025. She graduated from the University of Worcester in Geography with Sports Studies (Hons), followed by a PGDipEd at the University of Birmingham. She has taught Geography since 2010 in a number of Shropshire and Worcestershire schools. She has experience as a Subject Leader of Geography and Subject Leader of Humanities and is a SLE in the subject. She has completed her National Professional Qualification in Leading Teaching. She is responsible for teaching and learning, CPD in the school, ITT and ECTs and student voice.
KRISTIEN WOOD
Assistant Headteacher / YEAR 7 Transition Manager
Kristien is Assistant Headteacher at Lacon Childe School. Kristien completed his degrees in Mathematics and Education at Worcester University. Starting teaching as a Primary practitioner, Kristien has been at Lacon Childe since 2007. Kristien is responsible for culture and ethos across the school, transition and teaches Mathematics. Kristien oversees the pastoral team and ensures that all stakeholders understand our school values and commitment to good behaviour and high expectations. Kristien also oversees celebration and rewards to ensure that students who demonstrate the Lacon Me values are rewarded.
