King Charles is open today Thursday 9th January for all year groups.

Students and staff must take great care when making their way to school as after the recent snowfall roads and pavements may be a cause for concern and should only be travelled if families and individuals consider it safe to do so in their particular circumstances.

Transport

Lacon Childe School is able to offer a variety of transport options to ensure that your children are able to get to and from school safely and economically.

Your child’s bus pass will either be sent direct to your home address or to Lacon Childe, if received here we will contact you to advise.

If you live OUTSIDE our catchment area, Lacon Childe runs its own minibus service that you can apply for via the school office. Please note that you will need to book this no later than 1st July to secure a seat on the mini bus, and places are limited so will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

The cost per student for the 2025/26 school year will be £1050, a reduction will apply for for Year 11s. Each journey works out at £2.76 per student. To secure a place, a deposit of £50.00 must be paid by 2nd June. Following payments should be made on the first of each month via your Arbor account or by standing order, in 10 equal monthly instalments of £100.00 from 1st September 2025 to 1st June 2026.

Please note that we cannot accept bookings when payments for previous minibus services are outstanding. 

As the bus is subsidised by the school budget, students will be expected to pay for their seat for the academic year and no subsidy will be given for sickness or other absences.

The L@fter Bus

Lacon Childe also offer an after school minibus called the L@fter Bus which will take students home after school clubs on Monday to Thursday. The cost per trip is £2.50 and can be paid for via Arbor. Students are still required to book a place on the transport by end of breaktime on the day they wish to use this facility through the School Office and payment will be taken from your account. Please ensure that you have credit on your transport account prior to booking this service. 

We offer three routes, areas covered are as follows:

Route 1 – CLEE HILL/ KNOWLE / FARNDEN / DHUSTONE / CLEETON ST MARY / ANGEL BANK / CRUMPS BROOK / KNOWBURY / CAYNHAM / BURFORD /NEWNHAM BRIDGE / MILSON / TENBURY

Route 2 – BAYTON COMMON / BROOME BANK / CLOWS TOP / FAR FOREST / CALLOW HILL / ROCK / BLISSGATE / FIRTH COMMON / EARDISTON / LINDRIDGE / EASTHAM / KNIGHTON ON TEME

Route 3 – CHORLEY / STOTTESDON / BILLINGSLEY / HIGHLEY / KINLET / FARLOW / ORETON

College Minibus Service

We also currently run a minibus service for college students from Cleobury Mortimer to Ludlow Town Centre and Ludlow train station each day during term time. If your child would like a place on the minibus, please contact the School Office
